Ripple Foods, like all other brands of our size, is not able to have our own, dedicated manufacturing facilities. We rely on partners who can manufacture our products for us, and this means sharing facilities and production lines with other brands who make similar foods.
Our manufacturing plants do house some common allergen ingredients, and we share production lines with common allergen ingredients. However, we take great care to protect our ingredients and our processing from allergen contamination. So how do we do this?
Our suppliers confirm that our ingredients are ‘big 8’ allergen free, and all allergens within our facilities must be segregated from Ripple ingredients.
Before the production line is allowed to run Ripple products, it is cleaned specifically to remove any allergen proteins to below detectable levels using allergen testing kits. If the the line test detects ANY proteins, it is re-cleaned and re-tested until proteins are no longer detected.
After each production run, a sample of the finished product is tested for any trace of allergens present in the facility. This final step is not common in the industry, but we use it as final assurance that our product is clean of allergens with which we share manufacturing equipment.
